PKPC appoints new General Manager

The Port Kembla Port Corporation will have a new General Manager Marine & Port Operations.

CEO of the Port Kembla Port Corporation Dom Figliomeni said today that Mr Kell Dillon who will commence on February 4 will make a valuable contribution to the future development of the Port and brings with him a wealth of management and maritime experience.

The position has responsibility for navigation and marine operations, shipping functions, pilotage, security, emergency planning and response, and co-ordination of the Corporation's Quality Assurance system.

Mr Dillon is currently Manager Fleet Standards Group at Sydney Ferries Corporation but his experience extends to NSW Maritime and extensive work in the Royal Australian Navy including various operational deployments and Commander of the HMAS Huon.

I look forward to contributing to PKPC's vision of the provision of first class service delivery to customers and the community of both the Illawarra and NSW in a safe and sustainable manner” said Mr Dillon.

The appointment is a result of the departure of Captain Dennis Parsons who had been in the role at Port Kembla for three years. Captain Parsons moved to the port of Esperance in October 2007 to take up the position of CEO.
