Port Kembla Port Corporation renews CEO contract

Chairman of the Board of the Port Kembla Port Corporation, Mr Nicholas Whitlam, today announced that the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Dom Figliomeni, has been reappointed for a period of 5 years until 30 June 2012.

Mr Figliomeni has been CEO of Port Kembla Port Corporation since February 2005.

The Port of Port Kembla has undergone a period of significant change and development under Dom's leadership and I have pleasure in announcing the renewal of his contract,' said Mr Whitlam.

Dom has been heavily involved in developing and preparing the Port for the critical task of importing motor vehicles, whereby by next year Port Kembla will become Australia's most important facility for car imports; he has effectively promoted the Port for new business and leads the planning of the Port's future. His work will continue to be important in developing trade that enhances the economic prosperity of the Illawarra Region,? Mr Whitlam said.

Mr Figliomeni is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a Fellow of the CPA, a Fellow of Edith Cowan University and a graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  He is a director of the Illawarra Business Chamber as well as serving on the Illawarra TAFE Advisory Board, Wollongong Economic Development Reference Group, Australian Logistics Council and South East Australia Transport Strategy Group.
