PKPC recently supported local celebrations of World Environment Day at the Greenhouse Park site, overlooking Port Kemblas Inner Harbour.

Activities included a range of workshops on sustainable practices including no-dig gardening, composting and worm farming, plus tours of the park and adjacent Tom Thumb Lagoon wetland area.

PKPC Environment Manager, Trevor Brown hosted port tours on which participants were able to gain an appreciation of the port and its various environmental features including recycled water use, stormwater treatment, dust suppression, vegetation corridors and the beneficial re-use of local materials for port development.

This is the first year that World Environment Day activities have been held on the site. The celebrations were hosted by Wollongong City Council.
