Noel Moody

It is with sadness that PKPC recently mourned the passing of one of its long time staff members, Noel Moody.

Born in Queensland (Rockhampton), Noel went away to sea at age of 15 - serving as a deck boy on the "Poolta" and later on other ships of the Australian Mercantile Marine including the "Iron Duke", "Kumalla", "Wollongong", "Musgrave", "Range" ,"Iron Pacific" and "Iron Duke 2" - becoming an experienced seaman of varied skills.

Noel joined the Maritime Services Board (MSB) in 1977 as a Patrol Officer. He applied himself conscientiously and tirelessly to various duties including Patrol Officer, Watch Keeper at the signal station and as a crewman on the Pilot Vessels aiding pilots on or off the ladder. In his spare time, he was a keen fisherman.

Noel was well liked and respected by all those he worked with. He will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of working with him.
