Port Kembla has excellent road and rail corridors that allow the efficient exchange of cargo between land and sea for delivery to their destination. The port is located away from residential areas and incompatible developments, thus allowing port operations on a 24/7 basis.
While Port Kembla may be considered a regional port, its location just 60km from the industrial growth areas of south-western Sydney make it an ideal port for much of the product originating or destined for south-west Sydney or the southern regions of NSW.
The port's location road and rail networks and maximum flexibility of operations allow Port Kembla to service areas beyond its immediate catchment.
While access corridors to and from the port are more than adequate, the port will, as always, continue to work with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and ensure that future needs are identified.
